Dana Careless is an executive level professional with nearly 15 years of experience in the behavioral health and wellness space. Trained as a clinician, Dana has experience in direct care, operations, managed care, teaching and administration, at the local, state, national and international levels respectively.
At every turn in her career, Dana has been driven by a desire to think outside the box, lead with a clear vision, and eradicate the stigma associated with behavioral health challenges. She has project managed several complex and high-profile initiatives, including for the Philadelphia behavioral health system, the Illinois Department of Human Services, and currently as the lead for the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention National Response to COVID-19, an initiative of the National Action Alliance on Suicide Prevention. Dana has been recognized locally, nationally and internationally for her work, most notably for her leadership in getting Healthy Minds Philly off the ground.
Dana is someone with a lifetime of lived experience, specifically Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and as a survivor of suicide loss. These experiences enhance her ability to deliver exceptional products to her clients, as they are ground in compassion and an innate understanding of what it takes to connect big picture items and initiatives to the human on the other end of them.
When she is not dreaming of a world where mental health is treated the same as physical health, she is spending time with her husband, three kids and dog. She loves being outside, doing brain teasers, and laughing with friends and family.
